Pitmen Grab Late Equaliser But Still Fail To Convince

A seventy-eighth minute deflected Chris Clements shot salvaged a first home point of the season for Hednesford Town at Keys Park as their inconsistent yet, at times, encouraging start to the season continued.

The Pitmen faithful endured another frustrating afternoon on home turf as the away side won the majority of the second balls in midfield during a first half which failed to convince.

A lengthy early stoppage for an injury to Leamington captain Guy Sanders truncated the opening exchanges but it was the Warwickshire side who drew first blood on fourteen minutes after Dan Crane had brilliantly blocked a Craig Wilding shot. The loose ball was crossed back to the far post for ex-Pitmen striker, Luke Corbett, to slot the ball into the net.

Hednesford struggled to grab a foothold in the midfield area as Alfie Carter looked especially isolated in a disjointed first half performance.

Mark Bellingham threatened to register his first goal for The Pitmen against his former club on the stroke of half time as he picked up a ball forward by Liam Francis but dragged his hot agonisingly wide of the post.

Pitmen Away Day Run Continues In Style

New signing Kyle Paterson and youth team prospect Jamey Osborne had debuts to remember for Hednesford Town as they formed part of another superb display to despatch Didcot Town with ease.

The two debutants were ably assisted by a man of the match performance by Chris Clements; the midfielder was a constant thorn in the side of Didcot and had his best game so far in a Hednesford shirt.

On a high quality pitch it was Hednesford who made the more encouraging start and Osborne was first to test the keeper as the Didcot defence stood off and allowed him to get a shot away from distance.

Dan Crane in the Hednesford goal was called upon when Morgan Williams sneaked through The Pitmen’s backline only to see his weak shot smothered well by the goalkeeper.

Josh Craddock has today left the club to join Stourbridge FC and is liely to go straight into the squad for the Glassboys' away game at Brackley Town FC tomorrow.

Josh missed much of the pre-season due to his holiday commitments and did not wish to wait for the opportunity to get back into contention for a place in the starting line up.

We would all like to wish Josh all the best for his future.

The exciting looking Staffordshire FA Senior Cup, Round 1 match, away against our neighbours, Chasetown FC, has been arranged for Tuesday 19th October 2010. This is provisional that both clubs avoid the need for an FA Trophy replay, which would take precedence.

Our scheduled League match against Bedford Town FC has been rescheduled for Tuesday 30th November 2010, 7.45pm kick off.

In the Birmingham Senior Cup, Round 1, the Pitmen have been drawn away from home at Boldmere St Michaels FC, date still to be arranged.

We have been notified today that the expulsion from the Zamaretto League of Bromsgrove Rovers FC has been confirmed and that Hednesford Town FC will now receive a walkover to the second round of the Red Insure Cup.

We have today completed the signing of former West Bromwich Albion and LA Galaxy player Kyle Patterson, who will be available for selection in Saturday's away fixture at Didcot Town FC.

Kyle is an attacking midfielder or striker and was playing his football last season in the Swedish First Division for GAIS of Gothenburg. After receiving international clearance yesterday, Kyle's registration was processed without delay to increase Bernard McNally's attacking options.

We would all like to welcome Kyle to Keys Park.
